A Brief Introduction: The Descanso Chrysanthemum Society started as the Chrysanthemum Study Group in 1932. It held its first flower show in a Pasadena feed store that year. Sometime after 1948 the name changed, first to the Glendale Chrysanthemum Society and then in 2006 to the Descanso Chrysanthemum Society.
The Society became affiliated with the National Chrysanthemum Society in 1988. Since that time Descanso Chrysanthemum Society members have grown and shown blue-ribbon and best of group chrysanthemums at local and national levels. Three accredited National Chrysanthemum Society judges are members of the Descanso Chrysanthemum Society.
Most of our members live in the San Gabriel Valley. However, new members come from Rancho Cucamonga and Marina Del Mar.
